A mouth that doesn’t need orthodontic alignment at some point in life is rather rare. It helps to do it as soon as possible to give your child a good start in their oral health and their life. You also want your child to have the best braces experience possible. That’s why Bartlett & Alexander Orthodontics would like you to be aware of all your choices, so you and your child can make the right decision for them. Here are your options:

Traditional Braces: These are lighter and more durable than they used to be. Composed from stainless steel, they contain metal brackets cemented to each tooth which are linked together by a thin archwire. Dr. Steven Alexander will tighten this wire at periodic adjustment appointments, steadily aligning your son or daughter’s bite.

Ceramic Braces: Ceramic braces function the same way as traditional braces, but are more discrete, as they are made out of ceramic designed to mimic the shade of the teeth.

Clear Aligners: Invisalign aligners are quite different from your other options. They are composed of a series of clear plastic aligners that are like thin customized bite guards. The patient can take them out to eat or clean their teeth. Your child will visit us every six to eight weeks to get three sets of aligners, each of which he or she will switch out every two weeks

Now that you have the basic information about each of your options, you and your child can visit Bartlett & Alexander Orthodontics in Queensbury, New York with confidence. Dr. Steven Alexander can give you more information about what is best for your child’s bite. Call us at 518-793-8511.
